An employee of the Novokuznetsk municipal Bank (NMB) Svetlana Marchenko found guilty of embezzlement of more than 1 billion rubles, the Central district court of Novokuznetsk (Kemerovo region) and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment.
As reported Friday in a press-service of regional Prosecutor’s office, Marchenko worked at NMB head of VIP-Department, and together with the Bank Director stole 1 billion 41 million rubles.
According to the investigation, Marchenko had the right to dispose of funds held in a Bank, and the authority to use the money of Bank customers, had information about the presence in the accounts of the depositors of the Bank significant amounts.
Using official position, the defendant stole the money belonging to customers of the Bank, reports “Interfax”.
She concluded pre-trial cooperation agreement, therefore a criminal case considered in a special order.
Marchenko was found guilty of committing a crime under part 4 of article 160 of the RF criminal code (misappropriation or embezzlement of entrusted property made with use of office position, in especially large size). She was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment conditionally with a trial period 4 years.
The ex-Director of the NMB is charged under part 2 of article 201 of the criminal code (abuse of powers entailing serious consequences) and part 4 of article 160 of the RF criminal code (embezzlement of entrusted property in especially large size).
