Former football player USA national team, double Olympic gold medalist Abby Wambach arrested in Portland (Oregon, USA) for driving under the influence. On 3 April, reports ESPN.
On Saturday, April 2, at 23 hours local time Wambach ran a red light, then was stopped by the police. 35-year-old athlete was taken to the police station, where she was unable to take a test for alcohol.
Wambach spent the night at the police station, after which he was allowed to go home. It is noted that she was with the police polite and cooperative.
The football player apologized on his page on Facebook, taking full responsibility for what happened.
Wambach announced the completion of the sports career in October 2015. In the USA national team she won gold medals in the Olympic games 2004 and 2012 in Athens and London respectively.
