In February, her mother took daughter to the doctor with a complaint of swelling on her neck which turned out to be cancer.
1. “Any other symptoms were not,” says Andrea. “I would not have guessed he had cancer, until one day he felt a slight pain in the neck. When I touched the place that ached, then felt a bump.”

For treatment Andrea was released from school. At the same time mom told her to continue its work model. Some time Andrea did so. But in the course of chemotherapy the girl began to lose her hair and with them his confidence. “Before the chemotherapy, I’ve always been a confident person,” says Andrea. “When my hair started to fall out, together with them began to disappear and my confidence.”

4. But then Andrea’s mother shared the story of her daughter with photographer Gerardo Garmendia, who offered to do a photo shoot without a wig.
5. “At first I felt insecure without a wig,” said Andrea, “but then I realized that I have no reason to be ashamed of the lack of hair.”
6. “I understand that this session is not only about my outside beauty, but about inner beauty. Realizing this I was inspired by a photo shoot.
7. She recently shared the photos from the shoot with the motto “Cancer can’t take away my ability to be a Princess”. Nearly 100 thousand users did repost the entry.

9. “It was opened. It was not shame or embarrassment,” says the photographer. “How it copes with cancer inspired me. I was happy to capture this difficult stage of her life.
10. Andrea hopes this photo shoot will inspire young girls with cancer not to worry about their appearance during this difficult period. “I want them to know that hair only your physical attribute that you did not define,” says the girl. “What really counts is your inner beauty”.
