In January 2016 the Belarusian export of goods and services decreased by 18.5% compared to January last year – up to 1,976 billion. The decline in exports in January to December last year amounted to 26,8%.

Imports of goods and services in January fell by 5.2% to 1,865 billion.

Positive was traditionally minushuman the merchandise trade balance — $ 6.4 million (however, last year also began with advantage, but in the end, the negative balance for the year was minus $ 2,118 billion).

Exports of goods in January 2016-the year decreased by 21.2% to 1,561 billion, imports — by 8.3%, to 1,555 billion.

A more serious contribution to surplus made services. The decrease of exports was more modest — amount to $ 415 million, which is 6.6% less than January of 2015. Imports increased by 14.3%, to $ 310,2 million dollars. The balance of foreign trade in services was positive — to 104.8 million.

Last year exports of goods and services fell by 24.1% to 32,883 billion while imports fell 25.4% to 32,677 billion Balance although melted, but stayed in positive territory — 205,7 million against minus 483,8 million in 2014.

As reported TUT.BY currently the foreign Ministry has published a draft National program of support and export development for 2016-2020 and invited all interested to a public discussion. In the draft programme formulated five objectives and five priorities and stated that “in determining the criteria for receiving government support basic principles are to ensure equal access to support tools for enterprises of all forms of ownership, increasing the contribution of small and medium enterprises in the export potential of the country and stimulate the creation of new export-oriented productions”.

As targets of the program is indicated, in particular, the increase in the share of export goods in new potential markets, “far arc” in total exports of goods, the growing share of services exports in total exports; increase in the level of commodity diversification.
