Court spokesman Tomasz Krajewski reported on Monday that the sentence imposed by the court a month ago, was awarded because the officer “voluntarily underwent the punishment.” Earlier, the court was not told about the sentence.
The court of 5 years has deprived of the officer of civil rights and confiscated 16.5 thousand PLN which the convicted person received during their activities.
Protection of the convicted person is preparing to appeal.
Military who worked in the Department of education and promotion of the Ministry of defense, was arrested in October 2014. Since that time, he was in custody.
Prosecutors accused him of intelligence activities in favor of the GRU of the Russian Federation and transfer of information that could harm Poland. On these charges he was threatened from 3 till 15 years of imprisonment.
