It is incredibly expensive real estate.
India can rightly be considered a country of contrasts. Especially strongly they are seen in such a densely populated city like Mumbai (earlier the city was called Bombay). This city, in which luxury and poverty, the Western and Eastern civilizations live hand in hand. Residents of Mumbai manage to combine trends of the modern world with old Indian traditions and worldview.
In order to understand this, just walk through the local streets and see what life is like for residents of this city. This was made by a local resident and photographer Danish Siddiqui. He decided to walk through the slum and elite area for the rich to show how very different their living conditions.
The photographer also told me how much it costs to purchase and rent variety of housing in this densely populated city. As it turned out, in Mumbai is incredibly expensive real estate. Even in an incredibly old, worn-out houses, the apartments are very expensive (from $40 000 for a Studio apartment, more than 100 thousand in sq. m. 55). That is why most people just renting a living space.
