In the second day of the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro the medal moneybox of Ukraine remained empty.
The main disappointment of the day was the performance of Elena Kostevich in shooting from a pneumatic pistol with a 10-meter distance. Home favorite discipline in qualifying only took 28 th place and didn’t make it to the finals.
No less unsuccessful in Rio was made by George Zantaraya – Ukrainian judoka in the category up to 66 kg in the opening fight without a chance lost to the Portuguese Sergio Oleynik.
The General trend of the speeches of Ukraine in Rio de Janeiro and supported the women’s team archery. In 1/8 finals team championship Veronika Marchenko, Anastasia Pavlova and Lydia Sicenica lost to Japan.
Anna Solovey in the group race in the distribution of rewards was not involved. The only Ukrainian finished 10 minutes after champion Anna van der Breggen (Netherlands).
While Ukraine is on the London schedule four years ago. At the 2012 Olympic games first prize Ukrainians won only the third day of competition. Let’s hope that on Monday Ukraine will celebrate its first success in Rio.
