A film about the Ukrainian revolution in the United States received the award.
American teleakademii awarded documentary “Winter lights” special prize of The Television Academy Honors. This award is a traditional distinction for the ribbons, which, in the opinion of teleakademii, “inspire, raise awareness and motivate change.”
In different years the award was Oprah Winfrey, the TV series “the newsroom”, “C. S. I: crime scene investigation”.
“On behalf of my country and the whole international team that worked on the film, I am very grateful for this award. The revolution of Dignity taught me a lot, and I wanted to document it and show the world. This award is very important for Ukraine, which continues its struggle. I would like to dedicate this award to all those who gave their lives for freedom,” said the film’s Director Evgeny Afineevsky, in his speech at the awards ceremony.
We will remind, this year the Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom” ( “Winter lights: Ukrainian fight for freedom”) was nominated for the award “Oscar” in the nomination “best documentary”.
