Riots in Lille: 37 detainees, 50 injured

French police have detained 37 people after the new wave of riots organized football fans in Lille, where the day before took place the match between teams of Russia and Slovakia. This is the Agency Europe Press.

Law enforcement authorities in France were forced to use tear gas to disperse the English fans who, according to some, was trying to provoke the Russians. In the end, 50 people were forced to seek medical help, 16 people were hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the Minister of internal Affairs of France Bernard Cazeneuve called on the cities hosting matches of the championship of Europe on football, to temporarily prohibit the use of alcohol to prevent further unrest.

The tournament was marred by clashes between British and Russian fans before, during and after the game between the two countries.
