A unique shade of sand gives the microscopic shells coral insects called foraminifera. These single-celled organisms with a porous bright pink or red shells live in the bottom of the coral. When coral insects die, they shed their shell in the water who surf grinds into small particles and brings waves to the shore of the island Harbor.
So with the help of storms and waves the shells of foraminifera and grains of coral, which are near the coast have a reddish hue, transform ordinary beach Paradise with sand the colour of strawberry ice cream. Although bright insects in large numbers are found near coral reefs of the Bahamas, Pink Sands beach is painted in pink color only when ashore get enough of crushed shells.
