Lefkada is an island that you fall in love from the first sight.
The mountainous island of Lefkada is covered with numerous cliffs and picturesque woodland, but on its West coast are some of the best beaches in Greece.
The major resorts of Lefkada are concentrated on the East coast, surrounded by other Ionian Islands-satellites.
Except Lefkada, in the Ionian group of Islands is Heptanesia, Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Corfu, Ted: groins, years, and Ithaca. Lefkada is the fourth largest of the Greek Islands, after Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Corfu.
The island is separated from the mainland only by a narrow channel Drepanos 50 meters wide. Long wooden pier and a pontoon bridge connects Lefkada with mainland Greece which makes it the only Greek island (except the island), accessible by car.
Lefkada has a typical Mediterranean climate with mainly wet, hot summers and cold winters. Summer temperatures begin in may and continue until October. Here is still preserved the traditional culture, and in remote villages the women wear traditional dresses. The main town of Lefkada town is proud of its charming architecture of the 20th century.
