The last time changes to the periodic table of the chemical elements were made in 2011.
Scientists have assigned names to new elements of the periodic table – nihonium (Nh), moscovium (Mc), tennessine (Ts) and oganesson (OG).
Previously, they had only rooms – 113, 115, 117 and 118. The element names will be used in test format within 5 months before they are officially rated.
Names were defined by the International Union of pure and applied chemistry on 30 December 2015, They added in the seventh row of the periodic table November 8, 2016. Up to this point everyone can send their comments and feedback to the organization.
According to tradition, elements are named in connection with a mythological concept, a mineral, a geographical region, a property of the element or the name of a scientist. They should always end in -ium,-ine or -on.
All four elements do not occur in nature, they were synthetically created in laboratories. The 113 is named after Japan (Nihon), where it was synthesized for the first time. Two more items were received in the laboratory Oak Ridge, Tennessee National laboratory Lawrence Livermore in California. Moscovium obtained in Dubna, Russia.
