The reactor at Yongbyon, which is the main source of radioactive products required to implement the North Korean nuclear program, was closed in 2007. But in 2013, Pyongyang promised to run it again after the next nuclear test.
In February 2016, the Director of National intelligence James Clapper said that North Korea has resumed plutonium reactor in Yongbyon and could create the plutonium within a few weeks.
