The Italian Senate on vote adopted a resolution on the recognition of Crimea and the lifting of sanctions against Russia. On Monday, June 27, reports TASS.
The author of the resolution — Paolo Tosato, Senator from the party of “Northern League”. The vote on the draft will take place immediately after the speech of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on June 27. The Agency with reference to representatives Tosato notes that the draft document is literally identical with the project approved by the regional Council of Veneto.
Party “Northern League”, aka the Northern League for the independence of Padania — Italian political party, advocating for the provision in the future, the Northern Italian provinces of independence and the formation of an independent state of Padania with its capital in Milan. The party is on the centre-right positions. Its leader Matteo Salvini in 2014 initiated in the Italian Parliament the creation of the parliamentary group “Friends of Putin”, advocating for the abolition of anti-Russian economic sanctions.
