Everyone loves fine olive oil in the kitchen. Treat yourself to olive oil from Israel this Christmas.
Here’s how the story began…
About five years ago we had a vision together with our friend Oren Shalom who lives in Southern Israel: We wanted the desert there, where Moses and the people of Israel encamped for several years at Kadesh Barnea during their 40 year journey — to become green!
The implementation of our vision turned out to be much more difficult than expected. Sometimes there wasn’t enough water; then there was a plague of locusts; another time we hardly managed to tame the rampant weeds.
In spite of all those challenges, the olive trees are alive and well!
Now we have ordered a new olive press (cold press) from Italy. We have already paid half of the cost. We will pay the second half as soon as the olive press arrives in the Ashdod Port. The total costs, with the olive press, infrastructure, concrete floor, storage, water and power line as well recycling system: $145,000.
We want to set before you this significant and challenging goal – to complete this project of “greening” the desert this year!
Then everything will be complete, and if you want to, you can even take part in the olive harvest next year, with the mission accomplished!
