The photographer showed the mysterious forest that was drowned in a mountain lake.
Mountain lake at an altitude of 2000 meters, clear water, turquoise in color is unreal and dead forest standing in the midst of them – once there were trees. Duck floats in the distance and yells all around, and the echo of its quack is posted in the mountains.
Once upon a time, in 1910, a major earthquake a landslide blocked the gorge.
Soon mountain river filled with water, under which was a coniferous forest, previously growing here. Since this place is called “sunken forest”.
Due to the very cold water in the lake the trees trapped more than a hundred years ago, perfectly preserved.
The depth of the lake in some places is about thirty meters, and length – about four meters.
In addition to the river, the lake is fed by two small Creek, which form tiny waterfalls near the shore. The name “Sochi” is translated from Kazakh as “birch”. The explanation is simple – two kilometers from here there is a birch grove, it is not clear as appeared among the Tien Shan forests.
