Scientists say that the safe dosage of coffee for the men, women, and adolescents can vary and be different at times.
Although tea and coffee contain antioxidants, where they are more found in tea. So, while about 400 mg of coffee per day (four cups) is safe for men, for women the figure decreases to 300 mg, and for adolescents at all should be limited to 100 mg (one Cup).
More than five cups of caffeinated beverages a day can cause insomnia, headache, nervousness, stomach upset, fast heartbeat and muscle tremors in some people. Consumption of high doses of caffeine was associated with a reduction in bone density that over time can lead to osteoporosis.
Unfiltered coffee (espresso, cappuccino) can lead to increased levels of “bad” cholesterol in the blood, which is especially dangerous for people with cardiovascular diseases. Filtered coffee seems to be not having the same effect.
