September 1955 became a significant time in relations between the USSR and Germany. The Soviet Union recognized the Federal Republic of Germany, and in Moscow with official visit arrived the first German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. The purpose of the visit was the signing of the agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations and the release of thousands of German prisoners of war 38.
